Who we are
We are a team of change-makers who believe that every helping hand can raise a child and create a better future for them.
With a combined 34 years of experience within health and social care; Moira McCumskey, Thobeka Kolobe and Sylvanie Samba have partnered to create iCare Options as means to bridge the need for housing, amongst other various forms of support for care leavers. We each bring a different level of experience, showcasing our passion to see young people grow and shine as individuals – especially during this stage of their lives. To guide our practice, we apply the trauma informed and therapeutic approach, as well as the crisis intervention model. We promote diversity and recognize the impact that cultural incompetence has towards young people and our staff
Our other objectives include working alongside Local Authorities to ensure that care leavers are given the opportunities, tools and environment to adjust effectively. We believe in multi-agency collaboration as it ensures best practice. Our bespoke housing packages, trained staff and network also enables us to expand our supporting structure and go above and beyond.

We believe that care leavers should be given the right environment to grow into their independence and responsibilities. They need to be given the tools and support so that they can enter into adulthood with confidence, whilst maximizing every opportunity that is there to benefit them.
